J. N. Jethwa & Sons

J. N. Jethwa & Sons has been around for quite a while. We are located right at Gungchehahai Chauraha, which is a bit of a mouthful to say if you aren't from around here. It sits right on Assam Road. Being a family-run kind of place, things are pretty informal. My dad and the rest of the family have put a lot of years into this. We don’t have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy stuff for us. It’s just us. We deal with whatever comes through the door each morning. The building is old, and it has that specific smell of dust and old paper that you only find in places that have been open for decades. We spend a lot of our time just managing the day-to-day tasks. Some days the phone won't stop ringing, and other days it's so quiet you can hear the birds outside on Assam Road. We don't use big words or try to act like we are more important than we are. We're just a local business trying to make a living. People stop by to chat as much as they do for business. It’s a friendly atmosphere, even when we are stressed out about a delivery being late. We just take things as they come. If something breaks, we fix it ourselves with a wrench or some tape. That's the way it's always been done here and I don't see that changing anytime soon. We just do our best and hope for a good tomorrow.
