We operate out of the Elpro Compound in Chinchwad Gaon. It’s a well-known spot in the area, so most people don't have too much trouble finding us. We have a decent-sized space where we keep our equipment and handle the daily load. It’s not the quietest place to work, but it’s where we spend most of our hours. We have a small crew, and everyone knows what they are supposed to be doing. There isn't much hierarchy here; we just get to it. The floor is usually covered in some kind of metal shavings or oil spots, which shows we’ve been busy. We don't use much fancy language to describe what we do. We just work on the machines and make sure things are running the way they should. If someone calls, they’ll probably talk to one of the guys actually working on the floor. We don't have a separate department for every little thing. The weather in Chinchwad can get pretty hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going as much as we can. It’s a simple setup. We’ve been in this compound for a while now, and we’ve gotten to know the neighbors pretty well. We share the same gates and the same dusty roads. It’s just a normal day-to-day existence for us. We show up, do the work, and then lock up the compound when we are finished. It is a solid way to make a living and we are used to the routine.
