We set up our office here in Kothrud, right in Lane Number 4 of Mahatma Society. It’s a residential area, so it’s actually quite peaceful most of the time, except when the school buses go by. We are mostly doing marketing work specifically for construction companies. It’s a lot of talking on the phone and going through project plans. Pune is growing so fast, so there is always something happening in the building sector. We basically act as the link between what’s being built and the people who need to know about it. The office itself is just a regular room with a few desks and some old chairs. We’ve been in this spot for a bit now. It’s convenient because there are good places to grab lunch nearby. We don’t have a big fancy lobby or anything like that. It’s just us working through spreadsheets and making calls to different sites. Sometimes the internet acts up, but we manage. Most of our day is spent trying to figure out the best way to explain a new building project to people. It’s not always easy, but it keeps us busy. We know the local area well, and many of the construction folks we deal with have become regular faces over the years. It’s a straightforward kind of business where we just focus on the tasks at hand and try to stay organized.
