We are based at Vishay Components India. Pvt. Ltd., located near Loni Kalbhor by the Central Railway tracks. It’s a busy spot even if it feels a bit rural compared to Pune. You get used to the sound of the trains pretty quickly, though it can make phone calls difficult when an express goes zooming past. The warehouse is a big space where we keep all the components organized—or as organized as we can manage. There are rows and rows of shelving, and sometimes it takes a while to find exactly what you’re looking for. The lighting isn't great in the back corners, so we have to use flashlights sometimes. Our team is a mix of older workers who have been here forever and some younger kids just starting out. We don’t do things in a very corporate way. If something needs fixing, we just grab a wrench and do it. The office part of the building is just a few partitioned-off areas with some computers that are a bit slow. We spend a lot of time on the phone with suppliers and making sure the crates are packed correctly. It can get dusty when the wind blows across the tracks, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the surfaces. It’s a steady job and we like the people we work with. Loni Kalbhor isn't a fast-paced place, but we keep ourselves busy enough every single day.
