Vishal Auto Parts & Mechanics

Down in Chinchwad East, in the GIDC area, you’ll find us at plot G A 1/2. This is Vishal Auto Parts & Mechanics, and it’s a working garage through and through. The floor is stained with oil and there are tools scattered across the workbenches. We spend our days under car hoods or lying on creepers to look at chassis. It’s noisy because of the industrial neighborhood, with the sound of machinery and trucks always in the background. G A 1/2 is a decent-sized space, but it’s always full of vehicles in different stages of repair. We sell parts too, so one side of the shop is just rows of bins with bolts, belts, and gaskets. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy waiting room. Usually, customers just stand around and talk to us while we work on their engines. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and getting our uniforms greasy, but that’s the job. Most of the people who come to us are workers from the other units in GIDC or local drivers who need a quick fix. We don't bother with much else besides the mechanics of the vehicles. The sun beats down on the metal roof in the afternoon, making it pretty hot inside, so we keep the big bay doors wide open. It’s a simple, hardworking life here in Chinchwad East, and we’ve been doing it this way for a long time.
