Vidhatas,Plywood Division

If you come down Bahu Patil Road in Bopodi, you’ll find us over at Namrata Apartments, right near that big Pune IT Park. It’s a funny spot for a plywood place, being so close to all those high-tech office buildings, but Vidhatas has been here for a good bit now. Our Plywood Division is basically just stacks of wood and the smell of sawdust everywhere you turn. We spend most of our time moving sheets around and checking for knots or cracks in the surface. It’s heavy work, and by the end of the shift, our backs usually feel the strain. The office is in B 304, but we’re usually down where the deliveries come in and out. Customers come by looking for stuff for their homes or shops, and we just show them whatever we’ve got stacked up in the corner. It gets pretty busy around here, especially with the traffic near the IT Park making it hard for the bigger trucks to turn into the lane. We’ve got a couple of guys who are really good at measuring things out quickly without making mistakes. We don’t have a website that works right or any fancy brochures to hand out to people. Folks just know us from word of mouth or because they drove past and saw the boards leaning against the wall. Sometimes the rain makes things tricky because we have to scramble to keep the wood dry. It’s just a regular local business doing its thing.
