Pune is growing so fast these days and we are right in the middle of it. Vichal Construction is based here in Maharashtra, and we spend most of our time traveling between different sites across the city. The traffic in Pune can be a real nightmare, so I feel like I spend half my life in my car. We started this company because we wanted to be part of the building boom. It’s not always easy. We deal with labor issues, material costs going up, and the unpredictable rain. Our office is a simple place where we keep our files and meet with contractors. We don't have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just want to finish the buildings we start without too many headaches. Most of our crew has been with us for a long time. We know each other's families and we look out for one another. Some days we are on top of everything, and other days it feels like every machine is breaking down at once. That’s just construction for you. We don't try to sound like a big multinational firm. We’re just a local Pune business trying to make a living. People know us by our work and the fact that we show up every day. It’s a lot of sweat and dust, but seeing a structure finally stand up on its own makes it feel like it was worth the effort. It's hard work, but it is what we know.
