Being near the Tambadi Jogeshwari Temple means it’s always crowded outside our door. We’ve been at 31 Budhwar Peth for a long time. It’s a busy spot in Appa Balwant Chawk. Most people know the area for books and stationery, and we’re right in the middle of it all. We sell various things here, mostly stuff people need for their daily work or school. Our shop is a bit cramped because we try to stock as much as possible on the shelves. Sometimes it’s hard to find what you need right away, but we usually know where everything is tucked away. It gets really loud during festival times because of the temple nearby. We see students, office workers, and families walking past all day. It’s a humble place, honestly. We open early and stay open until late evening. My father used to run things differently, but now we just try to keep up with the demand. The traffic at the chawk can be a nightmare sometimes, especially when the delivery vans are trying to unload. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just drop in when they’re in the neighborhood. It’s just a regular local shop. We focus on getting the right items to people who come through the door. The temple bells are a nice sound to have in the background while we work. We hope the shop stays here for many more years, even as the city changes around us.
