Veneer Spot

Veneer Spot is over in Bhawani Peth on Filmcity Road at 383/11 and we spend our days surrounded by sheets of wood. The smell of timber is the first thing you notice when you walk into our place. We have stacks of veneer leaning against almost every wall and it can be a bit of a maze if you do not know where you are going. People come here when they are looking for a specific grain or color for their furniture projects. We spend a lot of time moving these heavy sheets around so people can see the patterns under the light. It is physical work and our hands are usually a bit rough from handling the wood all day. The shop gets very dusty so we have to clean the samples constantly so the natural colors show through. We have a small desk near the front where we keep the invoices and a calculator that has seen a lot of use. Bhawani Peth is a busy market area and there is always some kind of commotion outside on the street with carts and bikes. We do not have a big fancy showroom, it is more like a working warehouse where you can come and see the real material. It is a simple business based on wood and we like the fact that every piece we sell is a little bit different from the last one.
