Urmi Arts

Urmi Arts is over on Satara Road, right near the Shankar Maharaj Math. It’s a good spot because there are always people visiting the temple and the nearby Ranka Jewellers. We are tucked into a place called Shree Renukanagari. Our shop is full of colors and materials because that is what we do. We work on art projects and various creative things for people in the neighborhood. It’s not a polished studio like you might see in a magazine. There are paint marks on the tables and bits of paper everywhere. We’ve been around Satara Road for a long time and we know the regulars who walk by every morning. We don’t have a big marketing plan or anything fancy. We just open the shutters in the morning and see what the day brings. Sometimes a customer wants something small and other times it’s a bigger project that takes us a week. We just take it as it comes. It can get a bit crowded in here when we have a lot of supplies delivered, but we manage to find space to work. Being near the Math gives the place a calm feeling most days, except when there is a festival and the street is packed. We just keep our heads down and keep making things. It’s what we know how to do best, and we’re happy staying right here.
