Up here in Talegaon Dabhade, things move at a slightly different pace than in the big cities. Our construction business is based right here in Maharashtra. Most of the guys on the team are from the local area, so we know the land pretty well. We spend our days out on the sites, checking the foundations and talking to the laborers. The weather can be a bit unpredictable, especially during the monsoon season when the rain hits hard. We have a small office where we keep the tools and the blueprints. It is not anything fancy, just a functional space with a few cupboards and a desk. We usually have a pile of cement bags or some bricks sitting around somewhere. My boots are almost always covered in mud or dust, which I guess is the sign of a good day's work. We don't really have a big marketing team or a fancy website. Most people find us because they saw our work nearby or heard about us from a neighbor. It is a practical business. We focus on the building part and making sure the walls are straight. Lunch is usually a quick break with some dabba from home. Then it is back to the site until the sun goes down. It is hard work but it feels right to be building things in our own community here in 410506.
