Our place is out in Kini, which is part of Martoli in the Degloor area of Nanded. Being in Maharashtra, we deal with a lot of local stuff. It’s a bit quieter out here compared to the big cities, but there is still plenty to do with the infrastructure projects we handle. We’ve got our base set up to manage the local sites. It’s a simple building, nothing that would stand out to a stranger passing by. Most of the guys here are from around this district, so they know the land well. We spend our days looking over site plans and making sure the trucks arrive on time. The weather gets pretty hot in this part of India, so we try to get most of the heavy work done early in the day. Our office is more of a place to store tools and keep the records straight than anything else. There are always piles of paper and boots by the door. It’s a bit dusty, especially during the dry season. We don’t have any fancy meetings; we just talk over what needs to be done for the day and get to it. It’s a straightforward life working in construction out here. We just want to see the work finished and the roads used by the folks in the village. It isn't always easy, but we manage to stay busy enough with the contracts we have in hand.
