United Tooling System

We are over in the Chakan area, right across from where the old Record Company is. It’s a landmark everyone around here knows, so it makes giving directions a lot easier than using GPS half the time. Chakan is a heavy industrial zone, so the air is always thick with the sound of production and the rumble of heavy vehicles. Our shop is a practical setup designed for hard work. We don't have a carpeted lobby or a person sitting at a front desk waiting to greet you. Usually, whoever is closest to the door just looks up and sees what’s needed. The floors are concrete and stained with the usual marks of a tooling business. We spend a lot of time on our feet, moving between machines or checking on the latest batch of work. It’s not the cleanest environment, but it’s honest work and we don’t mind a bit of grease on our hands. Lunch is usually a quick affair, sometimes ordered from one of the dhabas nearby that serve the factory workers. The heat in Chakan can be pretty intense, especially in May, but we just keep the doors open and the fans on high. We’ve built a decent routine here over the years. It’s just a group of people working hard in a busy part of the industrial belt, making sure things get done. We close up when the light fades and the next shift in the neighborhood begins.
