Our office is located within the Department of Civil Engineering at Dr. D.Y. Patil College of Engineering in Akurdi, Pune. It’s a very specific kind of environment because we are surrounded by students and professors all day. You can hear the sounds of the campus through the windows—people talking, bells ringing, and the general movement of college life. Our workspace is pretty basic. We have long tables covered in technical drawings and stacks of reports that have been there for months. It isn’t the most organized place in the world, but we know where everything is. Archana Kumari and the rest of the team are usually busy with some project or another. There is a lot of civil engineering work to get through, so we don't spend much time on anything else. We don't have fancy office chairs or a break room. Usually, we just grab a snack from the college canteen when we get hungry. The address is quite a mouthful, but once you are on the campus, it is not too hard to find the department. Being in the Akurdi area means we are close to a lot of other technical hubs. It’s a practical spot for us. We aren't interested in looking like a big corporation. We just want to get the engineering right. It’s a place where we focus on the math and the structures rather than the decor. It is a bit loud sometimes, but we like the energy.
