Tyco Fire & Security,Gmi Plant

Our GMI plant is located out in Talegaon, Maval, which is a bit of a drive from the main Pune city center. We are technically part of Tyco Fire & Security,Gmi Plant, but being out here in M.H. feels a bit different than being in the city. It’s more of an industrial vibe. The plant is where the real work happens. It’s loud, there are machines running, and everyone is usually wearing their safety gear. We don't have a lot of office space here; it’s mostly about the production floor and making sure the fire equipment is built right. The weather out in Talegaon can be a bit nicer than in the city, especially during the monsoon when everything gets green, but the mud can be a hassle. We have a lot of local workers who come in from the nearby villages. It’s a practical place. We don't do much in the way of fancy decorations. We have a canteen where we eat lunch and talk about the news or whatever is happening in the area. Sometimes things break down and we have to spend all night fixing them, but that's just the nature of a plant like this. We aren't here to impress anyone with a shiny lobby. We just want to make sure the stuff we build works when it’s supposed to. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do every day without fail.
