If you ever find yourself on Kharadi Road near the Chandan Nagar area, you might pass by our place. Turbo Gears India (P) Ltd. has been operating out of this spot for a while now. It is a bit of a crowded neighborhood but it works for what we do. We spend most of our time dealing with gears and mechanical components, which is greasy and loud work most days. The office in the Bangla area is where we handle the calls and the billing. It isn't a huge operation, just a handful of people making sure things get shipped out on time. Sometimes the courier is late or the power goes out, which is just part of living and working in India. We don't have a flashy lobby or a receptionist in a suit. Usually, you’ll just see someone in overalls or a manager busy with a ledger. We’ve grown accustomed to the rhythm of the traffic outside. Most of our staff lives nearby so we are very much a local outfit. We don’t spend time on fancy websites or big brochures because we’re usually too busy with the actual gear work. It’s hard work, and the workshop can get pretty hot, but it’s what we know. We just focus on the task in front of us and try to get home before the evening rush hour gets too bad on the main road.
