Our place is tucked away in Lonkaeda, which is part of the Shahada Taluka in the Nandurbar district. It’s a bit of a journey to get here if you aren't from the Maharashtra area. We operate out of a spot cared for by Rajaram Dhoman Patil in Ganesh Nagar. It’s a very local atmosphere here. Things move a bit slower than they do in the big cities like Mumbai or Pune. We focus on training and the work that needs doing in this rural pocket. The roads are mostly dirt and when it rains, things get a bit muddy around the office. We don't have fancy air conditioning or anything like that, just some fans and open windows to catch the breeze. Most of us here grew up in the surrounding villages, so we know the community well. The work involves a lot of hands-on stuff and talking to the local people who come by. It’s a practical environment. We don't spend much on decorations; our walls are mostly covered with calendars and notes about the weekly schedule. Life in Nandurbar is steady. We start early before the sun gets too hot and try to finish up by the time the evening sets in. It’s a small operation, but we are part of the Lonkaeda landscape. There is a sense of quiet here that you don’t find elsewhere, and we just focus on our daily tasks one by one. We like the way things are around here.
