Mascoteers

We are over here at Flat No 702 in the Carnival Nyati Environ building. It is a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, which doesn't happen too often thank goodness. Lane No. 5 is usually quiet except for the mornings when everyone is rushing to get their cars out. We’ve been Mascoteers for a while now, just working out of this space and keeping things simple. The sun comes through the window pretty strong in the afternoon, so we usually have the curtains half-shut. It’s not a big fancy office with a glass front or anything like that. Just a regular place where we get our work done. Sometimes you can hear the kids playing outside in the common area downstairs. It gets a bit noisy during the school holidays but you get used to it. We like it here because it feels like a home, not some cold corporate building where nobody knows your name. People ask if it's hard to find us in Lane 5, but usually, if you just look for the Nyati sign you'll get here fine. We don't have a lot of big signs or flashing lights. We just have our desks and our stuff moved in. It suits us just right for what we need to do every day. Most of the time we are just focused on the tasks at hand. The balcony has a few plants that we try to keep alive, though they look a bit thirsty sometimes. We spend most of our hours here, drinking tea and looking at screens. It's just a normal job.
