You will find us at S.No: 102 on Vetal Hill, which is just off Paud Road in Kothrud. Being up on the hill means we get a bit of a breeze and it is quieter than the main roads down below, which helps when you need to concentrate. Most people know us as ARAI instead of using the full name, The Automotive Research Association Of India. Our work is pretty technical and involves a lot of looking at engines and testing how things work under different conditions. The buildings here are not brand new, but they are sturdy and hold all the equipment we need. We do not have a lot of bells and whistles in the office. It is mostly just desks, computers, and a lot of technical manuals. The staff here is a mix of folks who have been around since the early days and some newer faces who are still learning the ropes. We do not do a lot of public events or anything promotional. Most of our time is spent following procedures and making sure the data we collect is accurate. It might seem a bit repetitive to some, but we find it interesting enough. Kothrud is a busy suburb, but once you get up here to our spot on the hill, it feels like a different world where we can just focus on the task at hand.
