Our place, Techno Heat Manufacturing And Control, is located at 25/A on Zakaria Street in Kolkata. If you’ve ever been to this part of the city, you know how packed and lively it gets. Zakaria Street is famous for its food and markets, but we are here doing the manufacturing work. We focus on heating elements and control systems, mostly for other businesses and factories. The building is old, like most things in this part of Kolkata, but it serves us well. It can get very humid in the workshop, especially when we are testing equipment. There is a lot of history in these streets and you can feel it every day when you walk to work. We don't have a big showroom or anything. It’s mostly just a lot of wires, metal components, and boxes stacked up ready to go out. The porters and rickshaws are always moving stuff back and forth outside our door. It’s a noisy, busy place to be, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. We’ve known the tea sellers and the other vendors on the street for a long time. It feels like home to us even if it's a bit cramped inside the shop sometimes. We just focus on getting the orders right and making sure the controls work like they should. It’s honest work in a part of town that really knows the value of a hard day's labor. We like it here.
