Our Tata Motors Pune office is situated in the village of Khunari. We get our mail through the Kolari post office, which is in the Lakhani Tehsil. This is all part of the Bhandara district in Maharashtra. It’s a very local operation out here. You won't find any glass skyscrapers or paved parking lots with attendants. We are just a small part of the village community in Khunari. The office is a simple structure, much like the other buildings in the area. We work according to the local schedule and the seasons. It’s a quiet place most of the time, except when there is a lot of activity at the post office nearby. Being in Bhandara means we are quite a distance from the bigger cities. We focus on the tasks that come our way from the local area. There’s no corporate talk here, just plain conversation about what needs to be finished by the end of the day. We’ve been here for a good amount of time and the locals are used to seeing us around. It’s a honest way to work, staying close to the ground. The commute for us is just a walk through the village. We like the simplicity of it. It’s not a complicated setup, but it’s our base and it works for what we need to do. We keep the doors open and just get on with our daily business.
