Our place is located at Plot No. B-53 in MIDC Chakan, Phase II. It’s in Village-Vasuli, over in Taluka Khed, which is part of the Pune district. It’s a long address, but it’s basically just a big building where a lot of packaging happens. Tetra Pak India Pvt. Ltd. is where we work every day. The area around Chakan is always buzzing with activity because of all the factories. We have a lot of people coming in and out, mostly technicians and drivers. Inside, it’s all about the machines that fold and seal the cartons. It’s a very technical environment, but we try to keep things simple in our day-to-day interactions. We aren't much for corporate speeches. We just want to make sure the boxes are made right and sent out on time. The commute out to Vasuli can be a bit long for some of us, but we’re used to it. The canteen is where most of the talking happens during lunch breaks. We talk about cricket or the weather mostly. It’s a big operation, but at the end of the day, it’s just a bunch of people making sure your milk or juice has a container. We’ve been here in Maharashtra for a good while, and we’ve seen the industrial park grow up around us. It’s steady work and we take it one day at a time. The security guards at the gate are friendly enough once they know you. Most of us bring our own tiffin from home for lunch.
