If you know Budhwar Peth, you know how tight the lanes are. Our shop is No. 4 in the Shaligram Prasad building, right on Tapkir Galli. It’s a narrow street and usually, there’s a lot of shouting and horns honking outside. We open up early and stay until the shutters go down at night. Marketing isn't always about big ads; for us, it’s mostly just making sure the right boxes get to the right people. The shop isn’t huge, so we have to stack things pretty high. Sometimes I worry about a pile tipping over, but we’ve managed so far. We deal with all sorts of people walking in. Some are looking for something specific, and others are just lost in the maze of 555 Budhwar Peth. The floor is old stone and it’s seen a lot of feet. We keep a small kettle for tea because you can't get through the afternoon without it. It gets hot in the summer, and the fan just moves the warm air around, but we’re used to it. There’s no fancy lobby or reception desk here. Just a counter and some chairs that have seen better days. It’s a humble setup, but it works for what we do. People around here know us by name, which is nice. We aren't trying to change the world, just keeping the business moving. It’s a lot of manual labor and tracking orders, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Even on the busiest days, we take time to talk to our neighbors.
