Swarkul Foundation

Swarkul Foundation is based in Pune, specifically at the Sahavas Co-op Society. We are in Plot Number 2, on the ground floor. It is a quiet residential area in Pune City, which makes it a nice, calm place for us to work from. We are not a big organization with a high-rise office or a lobby. It is just a ground-floor flat where we keep our records and meet people. We like being in a housing society because it keeps us connected to regular, everyday life. You see people going for their evening walks or kids playing while we are inside working on things. We did not want a sterile office environment. We wanted something that felt a bit more like home. Most of our work involves talking to the locals and seeing what is needed in the Pune area. We do not have a marketing department telling us what to say. We just speak plainly to whoever comes by. Sometimes we have tea with the neighbors and talk about the foundation's work. It is all very informal. We have some basic furniture and a couple of old computers, and that is about it. We find that being tucked away in a society like Sahavas helps us stay focused on the real issues without all the distractions of the main road. It is a bit hard to find the first time, but once you know where the plot is, it is easy enough to visit us.
