Kamil Export Import

We operate out of Building No. 1 in the Shastri Complex, which is in the Mukundnagar area of Swargate. Kamil Export Import has been here for several years now. The complex is a bit older, so the stairs are a bit narrow and the walls could use a fresh coat of paint. We handle a lot of different goods coming in and going out. Most of the time, the office is full of boxes, samples, and shipping documents. It’s a lot of coordination with trucks and warehouses. Swargate is a very central part of Pune, so it’s always crowded with people and traffic. Getting a transport vehicle to the gate can be a real struggle in the afternoons. Inside the office, it’s just us and a couple of computers. We don't have any fancy decorations; just some calendars on the wall and a lot of binders. The staff usually brings lunch from home, and we eat together at the big main table when we have a break. It’s a simple business. We spend a lot of time checking lists and making sure the weights and counts are correct on the invoices. Sometimes there are delays at the port or with the transport companies, and we just have to sit and make phone calls until it gets sorted out. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. The day usually ends with us making sure the shutters are locked tight and the paperwork is filed for tomorrow.
