Svasthyarachna Foundation

You can find us over at the Shree Sai Samarth Apartment in Gogatewadi. We are on the sixth floor in room 602. It is right across from Sanmitra School in Goregaon. If you are familiar with that part of Mumbai, you know it is always buzzing with school kids and parents in the mornings and afternoons. Svasthyarachna Foundation is basically just a few of us in this flat trying to make a little bit of a difference. It is not a corporate setup at all. We have files stacked up on the desks and some old chairs for visitors. We spend a lot of time just talking to people who drop in to see us. It gets a bit noisy sometimes with the school across the street, but you get used to the sounds of the neighborhood. We started this because we felt like there was a gap in how things were being handled locally. We do not have a big staff or a huge budget to work with. We just do what we can with the resources we have on hand. Goregaon is a good place for us because it is connected to everything. Most days we are just answering the phone or trying to organize small local events. It involves a lot of legwork. We are not interested in being famous or having a polished image. We just want to be known as the people in apartment 602 who actually listen to folks.
