Our office is right in the middle of the Mahalaxmi Market chaos in Shukrawar Peth. If you know where Desai Bandhu Ambewale is, we are just next to that, which makes it easy for people to find us even when the streets are packed. Being at number 29 means we are right in the thick of the market noise and the smell of local snacks. The building is a bit older, and our space is filled with ledgers, tax forms, and thick folders from years of work. Sunil and the rest of the associates have their own spots, but we end up talking across the room most of the day. It is a very lived-in space. We don’t have sleek modern furniture; instead, we have sturdy desks that have seen a lot of use. People drop by with their documents, often looking a bit stressed about their numbers, and we sit down to sort things out. The market outside is always loud, with vendors shouting and scooters zipping by, but we’ve grown used to it over the years. We take turns getting tea from the stall downstairs. Most days are spent staring at spreadsheets or reading through new regulations that come out. It is a straightforward business, and we don't try to make it seem like anything more than it is. We just show up, do the work, and head home when the market starts to quiet down.
