Sudesh Shelar Memorial Foundation

You can find us at Flat No. B8, Bl No. 6, in Leela Park. This is at S. No. 114/1 in Kothrud, Pune. Kothrud is a nice part of Pune, very traditional but it is changing quickly these days. We started the Sudesh Shelar Memorial Foundation in memory of Sudesh. It is not a big corporate office or anything like that. It is mostly run by family and a few friends who wanted to keep his name going through some good work. We don't have a lobby or a receptionist. It is just a flat in a regular residential society. Sometimes you can hear the kids playing outside in the hallway while we are working. We do a bit of everything, whatever seems to be needed in our community at the time. Sometimes that means helping a student with fees or supporting a local project. We don't have a very strict schedule. We just see what comes up and try to help out. Maharashtra is our home, and Pune is where we have always been. Our rooms are simple, with just some basic furniture and a couple of computers. We have some photos on the wall that remind us why we are doing this. It is not about making money or being well-known. We just want to be useful to people around us.
