Our factory is situated at B-26 in the Chakan Ramnagar MIDC area. If you know Chakan, you know it is all about the industries. There are big trucks moving in and out all day long. Our spot is right in the middle of it. We work with alloys, so the place is mostly filled with metal and heavy equipment. It gets very loud when the machines are running full blast. The floor is covered in dust and metal shavings most of the time. We try to sweep it up, but it just comes back. It is hard work and the sun beats down on the metal roof during the day. We have a small cabin for the office work, but most of our time is spent out on the floor. We check the mixtures and the molds constantly. There is no air conditioning out there, just big industrial fans that move the hot air around. We eat our lunch together in a small corner where it is a bit quieter. Ramnagar is a busy place with a lot of people working in different plants. We’ve got used to the smell of smoke and the sound of hammers. It’s not a place for people who like quiet offices. We handle the alloys, pack them up, and get them ready for transport. That is the whole story of our day at B-26. It is basic, honest work in the MIDC.
