Sona Restaurant

Sona Restaurant is located right at Baner Gaon 1, and we have been here since before the area got so crowded with new buildings. It used to be much quieter around here, but now there is always noise from the street. We open up the shutters early when the sun is just coming up. The first thing we do is put the tea on and start prepping the kitchen for the breakfast crowd. It’s a modest setup with wooden tables and some old fans that creak a bit when they turn. We don't have a website or a big social media page. Most people find us just by walking past or because they’ve lived in Baner Gaon for years. We handle all the cooking and cleaning ourselves. Sometimes the sink leaks a little and we have to fix it with a wrench behind the counter. It’s not a polished place, but it is honest. We see the same faces every morning, people stopping for a quick bite before they head to work. We talk about the weather or how the road construction is going. It feels like a small community inside these four walls. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just want to make sure the food is ready on time and the place is open when we say it will be. It is just us here, doing the work every single day without any shortcuts.
