S.M.Kadam(Construction Co.) is based out of Shukarwar Peth in Pune. If you know this part of the city, you know it is full of narrow lanes and very old buildings. Our address is 136, and it’s right in the middle of all the bustle. Most mornings, the noise of the traffic starts early, and we are usually here by then to get things started. The office is tucked away, so it stays a bit cooler than the street outside. We have stacks of files and blueprints all over the place, which is just how it goes in this line of work. Maharashtra weather can be unpredictable, so we are always checking the skies during the monsoon season. Our team is small, mostly local people who have lived in Pune their whole lives. We know the 411002 area like the back of our hands. Working in an old part of the city like this means you have to be patient with the space you have. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles here. It is just a place where we meet, plan out the day, and handle the accounts. Sometimes the internet is slow, but we make do with what we have. It’s a lot of manual work and making sure we stay on top of the local regulations. We like being in Shukarwar Peth because everything is within walking distance.
