We’ve been at Poornima Chambers on Shankar Shet Road for quite a while now. If you head up to suite 218, you’ll find us surrounded by tools and gauges. It’s a busy spot. Most days, the focus is just on getting the measurements right because that’s what this business is. People come in looking for specific sizes and we spend a lot of time checking and re-checking things. It isn't a fancy setup. The desks are covered in drawings and there’s always a bit of dust from the work, even though we try to keep it clean for the instruments. My father used to say that a millimeter is a long distance when you’re making tools, and we still kind of live by that. We don’t do much advertising. Usually, it’s just folks from the neighborhood or old contacts who know where we are. The traffic outside on the main road can be a nightmare during rush hour, but once you're inside, it’s just the sound of the equipment and someone arguing over a calibration. We make sure the tools do what they are supposed to do. Sometimes the power goes out or the coffee runs dry, but the work carries on regardless. It’s just how things go here at Size Control Gauges & Tools. We aren’t trying to change the world, just trying to make sure these parts fit where they need to go. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy enough through the week.
