Our spot is located at Shivthirth Nagar, specifically around Survey No. 8/4 near Kalewadi Phata. If you are in the Pimpri area of Pune, you’ve probably seen some of the sites I’ve been supervising. It’s a fast-growing neighborhood and there is construction happening on almost every corner. My day starts early because that’s when the concrete trucks like to show up. I spend a lot of time standing in the sun, making sure the measurements are right and the laborers have what they need to keep working. I don't use a lot of fancy technology; I mostly rely on my tape measure and my experience. Being a site supervisor here means you have to be ready for anything. Maybe a machine breaks down or the water supply gets cut off. You just have to fix it and keep going. I’m not interested in making things sound more complicated than they are. Building something is just about putting one brick on top of another until it’s finished. I talk to the neighbors if the noise gets too loud and I try to keep the site as tidy as possible, though that’s hard with all the mud and gravel. People in Pimpri know I’m a straight talker. I tell them how it is, whether the news is good or bad. It’s just about getting the job done properly.
