Babulal Gokuldas Store

Babulal Gokuldas Store has been across from Laxminarayan Market for quite some time now. Our address is No. 344. It’s a straightforward shop. We sell a variety of daily items that people in the neighborhood need. It’s the kind of place where the shelves are high and you need a ladder to reach the top. We aren't like those big supermarkets. We know most of our customers by name because they’ve been coming here since they were kids. The shop floor is a bit uneven and the lighting isn't the brightest, but it works for us. My father started this place, and I’ve been helping out since I finished school. We don't have a fancy computer system; we still write things down in a notebook for the most part. It’s busy in the mornings when the market across the street opens up. The noise of the street is constant. We have jars of sweets on the counter and stacks of goods everywhere else. There is no air conditioning, just a big ceiling fan that wobbles a little. It’s a bit crowded inside, but that’s because we try to keep everything people might ask for in stock. We don't do any advertising. People just see the sign when they are walking to the market. It’s just a regular local store doing its thing day in and day out without any fuss.
