Shruti Medical & General Stores

Our shop is right near Santosh Hall in the Aditya Apartments. You can find us at Anand Nagar along the busy Sinhagad Road. It’s a bit of a mix here. We sell medicine, but we also keep a lot of everyday stuff people need for their houses. It gets crowded because of where we are. The apartment building is quite large, so there is always someone popping in for a bar of soap or some headache tablets. I’ve been working behind this counter for years now. The shelves are a bit tight, and sometimes things get tucked away, but we usually know where everything is. Sometimes the big delivery trucks block the entrance for a few minutes while they unload. It’s just part of being on such a main road. We open up early and stay until fairly late most nights. It’s a very simple setup. Nothing too special to look at if you're passing by. We still keep a paper ledger for some of the older neighbors who’ve been coming here since we opened. It feels more like a community spot than a business sometimes. Shruti Medical & General Stores isn't trying to be a big fancy chain. We just provide the basics for the folks living around here. The ceiling fans hum all day long. It’s noisy outside with the buses, but we’re used to the sound. We just keep busy stocking things and helping the people who walk in.
