At Shri Jagdamba S S K Ltd, things have changed a bit lately since the lease went over to Natural Sugar & Al. We are based out in the Osmanabad area, specifically around Raighwan and Shiradhon. If you know the roads around Kalamb, you know it can be a long drive to get out here, especially during the harvest season when the tractors are everywhere. This part of Maharashtra is where we do all our work. Our office is a practical place where we keep track of everything going on with the sugar production. It’s not a quiet job. There is always something moving or someone coming in with questions about the crops. We spend a lot of time out in the fields or near the mill equipment making sure things are moving along. The air usually smells like crushed cane around here. It’s hard work, and the days are long, but that is just how it goes in this industry. We don’t have fancy carpets or glass walls. We have desks that have seen better days and a lot of logbooks. People around the village know us well because we’ve been part of the landscape for a long time. We just try to keep the operations running smoothly under the current lease. It’s about getting the sugar processed and dealing with the daily realities of life in a rural Tq like Kalamb.
