Shreeji Spares

If you’ve ever walked through Nana Peth, you know how it is. It’s crowded and there are shops everywhere. We’re at Shop No 14, and Shreeji Spares has been here through many seasons. We deal with all sorts of spare parts. It’s the kind of place where you have to know exactly where you put that one specific clutch plate or headlamp because the shelves are overflowing. We spend a lot of our day just pulling boxes down and putting them back up. The shop isn’t very big, so we have to use every inch of wall space. Customers come in with old parts in their hands, asking if we have a match. Usually, we do, or we can find it pretty quick. It’s a lot of metal and grease and the smell of new rubber tires. We don't have air conditioning or anything, just a fan that moves the air around while we work. My clothes usually end up with a bit of dirt on them by the end of the shift. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot, but the demand for spares never really goes away. We just keep our heads down and try to help the mechanics and vehicle owners who find their way to our door. It’s a bit messy sometimes, but that’s just how a spare parts shop in Nana Peth works. We keep our logs in a simple notebook on the desk. Sometimes we have to order things in if it is for a very old model, but mostly we have it.
