We are located out in Village Salumbre, which is in the Maval area of Pune district. Most days start pretty early here because the sun gets quite hot by noon. We mostly do erection work, getting steel and structures up where they need to go. It is not quiet work. There is always the sound of tools and guys calling out to each other. The office isn't anything fancy, just a place to keep the papers dry and have some tea. Sometimes the roads around Maval get a bit rough when it rains hard, but we manage to get the trucks through somehow. Most of us have been around here for years. We know the local paths and the way things work in this part of the state. It is just a regular business day for us, making sure things are bolted down right. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we have to. Most of our time is spent out on the site or in the yard checking the gear. We’ve seen the area change a bit, but Salumbre still feels like home. When the day is done, we just lock up and head back. It is honest work and it keeps us busy enough. The tea shop down the road knows all our names by now. That is how it is when you stay in one place for a long time. We just keep doing what we do.
