We are set up over in Gunat, which is part of the Shirur Taluka in Pune district. Our specific spot is G No 468. It’s a rural area, so don’t expect a big shopping mall or a paved parking lot with a valet. Most people just park their bikes out front on the dirt. Shree Sadguru Urban Multipurpose Nidhi Limited is run by just a few of us here. The air is a bit cleaner out this way than in Pune city, which is nice. We open up early and usually stay until the sun starts to go down. The office inside is mostly just desks, some old cupboards for the files, and a few fans to keep the air moving. We get a lot of local people coming in, mostly people who have known each other for years. It’s the kind of place where you know someone’s father or brother. We don’t go in for big advertisements. Word of mouth usually brings people to G No 468. Sometimes we sit outside if the weather is good. The multipurpose part of the name just means we try to help with whatever comes up in the community regarding their savings. It’s a very grounded way of working. No one here wears a tie or uses big words that nobody understands. We just get through the paperwork and make sure the records are kept straight for everyone in Gunat.
