If you come down to Sadashiv Peth near the Swami Samarth Math, you will find Sherwin Williams Paints (India). Our place usually smells a bit like fresh paint and floor cleaner, which I guess makes sense for what we do. It’s a lively neighborhood and having the Math nearby means there are always people walking past our door. We spend most of our time moving heavy cans around or checking color charts with people who aren't quite sure what they want. The shop isn't some high-end showroom with bright lights and fancy carpets. It’s more of a working space where things get a little dusty and the floors show some wear and tear. We handle a lot of different orders throughout the week. Sometimes it’s just one person looking for a small tin, and other times it’s much more than that. We don't use a lot of big words or try to act like we are something we aren't. We are just here to supply the paint that people need for their homes or shops. The daily routine is pretty simple. We open up, check the stock, and talk to whoever comes in. Some days are quiet and we just sit and watch the traffic go by in Sadashiv Peth. Other days it feels like everyone in Pune decided to fix up their walls at the same time. It’s just how a local business runs in this part of town.
