About Shashwat Farming Foundation – Exim Trade in Pune
Out here in Narayangaon, things move a bit slower than in the city. Our place is at Anandwadi, House Number 1434, right in Tal Junnar. It’s a farming area, so most of what we do at Shashwat Farming Foundation revolves around the land and the people who work it. We aren't a big corporation with suits; we’re usually out in the dirt or sitting in our small office talking about seeds and water. The foundation was set up to look at how farming is changing around here. Sometimes the rains are good, sometimes they aren't, and that pretty much dictates our week. We spend a lot of time visiting different plots or just meeting neighbors to see what they’re growing this season. It can be a bit of a trek to get to us if you aren't used to the local roads. We have a lot of old files and maps laying around the office. It gets dusty, especially when the tractors go by. We don’t really do fancy meetings. Usually, it’s just a cup of tea and a long talk about the crops. It’s honest work, and it feels right to be part of the community here. We just want to see the farms doing okay. There is a lot of history in Junnar, and we try to respect that while looking at new ways to do things. It is just a small foundation trying to stay useful to the local growers.
