Shapoorji Pallonji&Co.Ltd.

Out here in the Nandurbar district of Maharashtra, we have our Shapoorji Pallonji & Co.Ltd. base in a small place called Hol, near Ranala. It is quite a remote area and it takes a while to get here from the main town. The office is very basic, as most of our actual work happens out at the sites in Koparli or other nearby villages. We have a few sturdy tables and chairs and that’s about it. The heat in this part of India is quite something, so the afternoons can be pretty slow if you aren't used to it. We mostly deal with local workers and suppliers who stop by throughout the day. There is a lot of mud on the floors because everyone is coming in from the fields or the construction areas. It is definitely not a polished corporate environment. We keep a simple routine and try to get as much done as possible before the sun goes down. Most of our communication is face-to-face because the internet can be a bit patchy out here. We eat our meals together and usually talk about the work or the local news. It is a quiet, hardworking life. We don't have any big company banners or fancy slogans on the walls. It’s just a group of us trying to make sure the projects stay on track in this rural area.
