Shapoorji Pallonji & Co.Ltd., Mumbai

We spend most of our time here in Pune, even though the main office for Shapoorji Pallonji & Co.Ltd. is back in Mumbai. It’s a bit of a back-and-forth sometimes. Usually, our mornings start with a quick check on the site progress and then we settle into the office work. The traffic in Pune has been getting worse lately, so everyone tries to get in early to avoid the rush on the highway. We’ve been at this for a while now. It’s not always glamorous work, just a lot of logistics and making sure the supplies show up when they are supposed to. Some days the phones don't stop ringing and other days it’s just us staring at blueprints until our eyes hurt. We have a small crew here. We usually grab lunch from the place down the street because nobody has time to cook at home anymore. It’s a decent setup we have. We aren’t trying to do anything fancy, just keeping the projects moving along. Dealing with the weather is the biggest headache, especially when the monsoon hits and everything slows down to a crawl. But we manage. Most of us have been working together for years, so we know how to stay out of each other's way. It’s just a regular office day-to-day, really. We handle the local stuff so the Mumbai folks don't have to worry about the details out here in Pune. It works out okay for everyone involved.
