Shalimar Rexine India Limited is situated at Gate No.1284 in the Sanaswadi Industrial Zone. It’s a bit of a drive out from the main city, located along the Pune-Nagar Road near Nahavara. The area is wide open with a lot of big plants and warehouses spread out. Our facility handles a lot of materials every day. When you walk into the gate, you see the rolls of fabric and the heavy machinery used for processing. It’s a large space, which is necessary because the stuff we work with takes up a lot of room. The floors are concrete and there's always a faint smell of chemicals and plastic in the air, which we don't even notice anymore. We have a lot of workers coming in from the nearby villages and some who travel quite a distance from Shirur. It’s a busy place but not in a chaotic way. We follow a pretty set schedule with the shifts. Lunchtime is when it gets quiet for an hour, and then the noise starts back up. We don’t have a marketing team writing stories about us. We just make rexine and sell it to the people who need it for furniture or cars. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. The rain can make the roads around here a bit muddy, but the trucks still manage to get through to the gate without too much trouble.
