We are located over in Erandwane, which is usually a busy part of town. Our office isn't anything special to look at, just a place where we get the work done. A few of us sit here together, mostly looking at computer screens or arguing about where a column should go. It gets a bit crowded when we have a lot of files piled up, but we manage to find what we need eventually. Erandwane has changed a lot over the years, and we have seen plenty of new buildings go up while we’ve been here. We don't really do the big corporate thing. It’s more about sitting down with a pencil and figuring out how to make a space work for whoever is going to live there. The tea stall nearby is where we spend some of our breaks, just talking about the latest project or whatever else is going on. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other days it is completely silent. We handle a mix of things, from small renovations to bigger structures, but the process is usually the same. You show up, you draw, you check the site, and you hope the rain doesn't slow down the construction too much. It’s a lot of practical stuff, making sure things are sturdy and legal. We just keep our heads down and stay busy with whatever comes through the door.
