Sarthsagar Foundation

Our setup is right inside the Jyotirling Sahakari Housing Society. We are at number 790/174. It’s a typical residential society vibe, so you’ll see people hanging out their laundry or kids playing in the common areas while we are working. Our room is packed with boxes of supplies and various folders. We don’t have a lot of space, so we have to be careful where we step. The desk is usually covered in pens, notes, and half-empty tea cups. We spend a lot of time coordinating with volunteers over the phone. Since we are in a housing society, we have to keep the noise down so we don't bother the neighbors. The afternoon sun hits the windows directly, making it pretty warm, so we keep the curtains drawn. We don’t have any big corporate logos or fancy carpets. It’s just a plain room where we handle all the foundation's needs. Sometimes we have to move the furniture around to make space for a group meeting. We like the feeling of being part of a community rather than being in a sterile office building. It makes the work feel more real. There’s always someone coming by to drop off something or ask a question. We just take it one day at a time here. The postman usually stops for a chat when he delivers our mail. It is a quiet life but we keep ourselves very occupied with the work.
