Sant Krupa Tyres

The arcade here in Hinjawadi is always packed with cars and bikes, especially during the morning rush. Being at Sant Krupa Tyres means our hands are almost always black from handling rubber all day. It’s a messy job, but someone has to do it. We spend a lot of time out front checking air pressure or looking for nails in tread patterns. The heat coming off the asphalt in the afternoons is no joke. We keep a couple of plastic chairs outside under the shade for when things slow down for a minute. Most of our day is spent unstacking and restacking heavy tires. You get a real workout without even trying. Hinjawadi is full of people rushing to their IT jobs, so we see a lot of stressed-out drivers. We try to get them back on the road without too much fuss. There’s a lot of equipment humming in the background, like the compressor which kicks in every few minutes. The shop isn't big, but we make use of every inch of space we have. Sometimes we have to move half the inventory just to reach a specific size in the back. It’s just how the shop is laid out. At the end of the shift, we wash up, but the smell of new rubber never really leaves your clothes. It’s just part of life here at the arcade.
