Sandip Soparrkar S Ballroom Studio

Our studio is located over near Airport Road, in the Gujrat Colony area by Saraf Bazar. It’s a bit of a specific spot to find if you aren’t from around here. We’ve got the ballroom space set up with floors that we have to sweep and polish more often than you’d think. Sandip Soparrkar’s name is on the door, but day-to-day, it’s about the students who come in sweaty and leave tired. We have these big mirrors that always seem to have a smudge on them no matter how much we clean. The music is almost always playing, usually something with a strong beat for the ballroom steps. Sometimes the neighbors complain if we turn it up too loud in the evenings. We’ve got a small area where people can change their shoes and leave their bags. It’s not a polished corporate gym; it feels more like a workshop for dancing. The air gets thick when there’s a full class, so we keep the windows open when we can, even if the Airport Road traffic is noisy. We spend a lot of time talking about footwork and posture. It’s hard work for the people who come here, but it’s a good kind of energy. We just focus on the lessons and keeping the floor in good shape for the next group. It’s a simple, dedicated space for people who want to move.
