Down in Bhosarigoan at 19/2, you’ll find Sandeep Auto Parts. It’s a dusty place, mostly because of all the metal and rubber we keep in stock. I’ve got shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling filled with things like spark plugs, brake pads, and oil filters. My hands are usually a bit greasy from handling the parts, even if I try to keep them clean. Mechanics from around the area come here because they know I usually have what they need for the older bike models. It’s a small shop and it smells like oil and new tires. I don’t have a computer system to track everything; I just use a big ledger and my memory. Sometimes it takes me a minute to find a specific bolt in one of the crates. The neighborhood is mostly industrial, so there’s always the sound of engines and tools nearby. I’ve been in this spot for years and the sign out front is looking pretty weathered now. People come in and ask for advice on why their engine is making a weird noise, and I tell them what I think. I don't do repairs myself, I just sell the parts. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and moving boxes around. I usually close up early on Saturdays to spend time with my family. It’s honest work and it keeps the local vehicles running. It can get lonely here sometimes, but there is always a customer coming in.
