Salsa India Productions

Our studio is tucked away on M G Road in Rakshak Nagar 1. It’s a space where we spend most of our evenings teaching people how to move. Salsa India Productions isn't a massive hall, but the floors are good and the mirrors are big enough for everyone to see what they’re doing. We started this because we just really liked the music and wanted a place to practice without being in anyone's way. Now, we have classes running most nights of the week. It gets pretty loud and sweaty in here, but that’s just how it goes when you’re dancing. The building itself is older, and the stairs can be a bit steep if you aren't used to them. We usually have a water cooler in the corner that gets a lot of use. People from all over the neighborhood come by after work to blow off some steam. It’s not a formal school or anything stiff like that. We just put on the tracks and help people find their rhythm. Sometimes the music goes a bit late, and we have to remind everyone to keep it down while leaving so we don't bother the neighbors. If you’re walking down M G Road, you can usually hear the beat before you see the door. It’s a simple setup, just wood floors and a sound system, but it works for us.
